Dumped bunny rabbit bounces up to family’s porch in search of help, son offers food and after 3 hours manages to rescue the abandoned rabbit, son says: ‘He is so sweet he’s very scared but you can tell he’s a good boy.’

If you thought that only dogs and cats seek out support after being dumped, then this bunny story is sure to enlighten you to the plight that all animals share after being abandoned.

It does not matter what species an animal hails from. They all want the same kind of love and comfort from their hooman carers. It is after all what we get them used to when we raise them to be domesticated. They learn to turn to us for food and comfort. Of course the two can be rather interchangeable and intertwined but nonetheless we are their source of those things.

And the moment that we abandon them, thereby denying them their most basic of needs, they will go looking for love elsewhere. Which is just what this bunny rabbit did after being dumped. We do not know how far it travelled, and how many days it was alone. But it did what it could to seek out the comfort that only hoomans could give it. And with some luck it happened upon the family who would end up adopting it.

Well, not gonna lie, even if we were a hungry lost bunny who happened to find your house in the evening we would not be responding well, or at all to the notion of having bananas thrown at us. First of all we are no sort of ape, and second of all no one likes having food thrown at them, no matter how hungry they might be. Jheez, someone needs to teach this kid how to approach wildlife. Though he might need help with other hoomans too. We have to say we are proud of this bunny for not exacting revenge for the offensive behavior of this boy.

Well, for all this kid’s misgivings at least he was aware enough to sense that the bunny he had been lobbing bananas at for the last few hours was stressed. Who would not be stressed if the people that they turned to for help ended up throwing food at them and then tried to capture them. We can only imagine that the capture attempts were as clumsy and callous as the banana throwing. But either way, at least the event is behind them both and hopefully this boy will have learned to leave the banana throwing to the monkeys.
